Dear Readers, Colleagues, and Friends,

I didn’t write much in 2025. I missed you. And writing for you.

It was a different kind of year.

It was a year of naps and friends and love. A year to recover, recalibrate, reunite, renew and rebuild. To learn grace. To eat Balkan stews. To stop climbing mountains and learn how to camp. To breathe. And center. And not answer the phone. To test the theories you invent about life and the world when it’s all threatened. To see if you really mean it.

I wish you the best in this new year. I wish you calm. I wish you patience. I wish that you close up the space between — between who you are and who you want to be, between what you want the world to look like and what it does, or simply the chasm, feet, or centimeters on the couch between you and those you love the most.

To all that is ahead in this life!

With love from New York City,

JVG
