Time for a Modern Fairness Doctrine

It’s high time we revisit the Fairness Doctrine. Yes, there used to be an actual policy that prevented the polarization of our media. It is time to bring it back, clean it up, and make it pretty — and productive — for the 21st century. First enacted in 1949 by the FCC, the Doctrine called on television broadcasters to present balanced reporting on controversial issues.
